Update from the IRS regarding Form 1040 Filing & ACA

In the below article the IRS indicated it will not reject individual returns for the 2016 tax that do not indicate the health insurance coverage status. This is in response to Trump Administration’s mandate to minimize the impact of the Affordable Care Act.

Please note however, the penalties owed for not having coverage are still in effect as they are enforced by law.

We recommend still voluntarily indicating your coverage status and paying any penalty which might be due to prevent having taxes and interest owed at a later date.
