The IRS announced in News Release 2017-183 that anyone still needing to e-file their 2016 tax return should do so by November 18,2017. After this the e-file program will be undergoing maintenance and updates for the 2018 Tax season (2017 Returns). Returns filed after this date will need to be done on paper.
